Password Safe

I've been using a pretty nifty open source tool for a while now and so I thought I'd share. The tool is called Password Safe and is a great little application for storing user accounts and passwords.

Yeah, I know, I know - you're not supposed to write these down anywhere but to be honest between Facebook, Yammer, Twitter, Thwack, SolarWinds, Cisco, NetworkWorld, 5 different banks, MySpace, MSN, and all of the other sites that I commonly login to and with the fact that I like to rotate passwords fairly often - well, it was more than I could keep up with.

I've been using it for going on a year now and have never had an issue. Great little app...

KeePass and Passwordsafe are safe and handy! But when I need to sync across multiple PCs, log on to my site from my iPhone, or share accounts with others, etc. I combine the best of 2 worlds by using MashedLife.com's open source integration with Keepass and Password Safe! http://mashedlife.com/tools.php Stay productive!

I recently found another tool I've found quite handy at clipperz.com. Open Source, though online strong encrypted passwords. The nice thing is that the site never knows any of the data. All of the encryption is done client side. One of the coolest features is the "Direct Login" which logs you in directly to the sites you frequent, without ever typing your username/password. Keyloggers be damned!
