This works fine as long as you want to import ALL of your NPM nodes into NCM. In my case, I have an unlimited NPM license and a 1000-node license for NCM. This is because I want to monnitor a lot more devices than I need NCM to configure. Some of these devices, NCM doesn't work very well anyway, like APC UPS devices, SMC switches, and some other stuff. I have other config options in place with them.

I have seen some commentary on the fora about work-arounds involving custom SQL jobs exporting to a staging database, then importing from there into NCM. It would be superb if in addition to the option of importing from NPM only those items that are new to NCM, you could mark items in NPM for not importing when you first add the node to be monitored.

Worked well enough for me, just wish you could have a diffrent sound for each alert.

Nice thing here is that you can filter what is being synchronized. For example, I only use NCM for Cisco equipment, but use NPM for all vendors.

I've done there same for my installation! It works pretty awesome. We have it set up so that owners of systems get to update their wn contact information so I don't get bothered every time someone goes on holidays.

The only thing I would mention is something that is alluded to in this post about emails not being populated and things dying. As it says, if it's empty there wont' be an issue but.. if there are bad email addresses... it leads to bad news. Things stop working globally.

I just wanted to pass along that when using variables for email, just be careful and really stress to users that email addresses need to have a comma and a space after them before the next address (i.e adam@spacehip.com, beans@spaceship.com)

Just want to add that I did fix 2 of the issues. The Warning and Error Threshold will not cause the gauge to display red if left blank any more. I did also fix the issue with labels not setting correctly when gauges are first added.

Great info. When will we see an option to sound by the selected .wav in an alert config?

There seems to be no reason for the ability to configure different alert sounds, when the web console overrides it.

Great to see this has made it into an Orion module.

If this is not going to be part of NPM, then I believe this should be a part of the VoIP monitor module, and not NTA.
