hi Cirrus users.  I posted this in the Orion forum and I will post here as well:

I dont know about you all, but I am dying to know whats up with this new software.  Will Cirrus customers with support be offered this for free.  We just purchased Cirrus 4.0 not even a month ago and bought a years support.  I am really hoping SW is pulling any fast ones here.  The live web demo of NCM looks awesome and I would LOVE to implement it.
NCM seems to be what the sales guys proclaimed Cirrus 4.0 was going to be.  I was told it was seemlessly intigrated with orion.  As all Cirrus users know, that is not the case.

Anyways, heres to hoping (praying even!) that solarwinds is not going to do what I thinkg they are, and that is release this as a seperate product, and us Cirrus users are left with second rate config management.  That would truly be a shame and severly tarnish SW great track record of keeping thier customers happy

Hi Mike

Thanks for your post.  Yes, we are absolutely keeping Cirrus (now Orion NCM) a standalone product.  All Cirrus customers on maintenance will automatically have Orion NCM provisioned on their account on Sept 29th, 2008 (the general availability date).  If you have Orion Network Performance Monitor & Orion Network Configuration Manager, then you will have several integrations as part of your Orion NPM installation.  To best see this, check out our updated online demos that have everything installed:

Orion NPM with NCM integration: http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/
Orion NCM: http://orionncmdemo.solarwinds.com/

We try very hard to keep our customers happy and deliver the best network management software on earth!

Thanks,
Nick

Excellent news Nick!!  Thanks for the clarification.  Cirrus users can breathe a sigh of relief.
