LDAP or Radius alternate methods of authentication

Has anyone implemented Solarwinds in an extranet type of environment where it's customer facing? I have tested the ability of the current Orion product to restrict a view to an specific customer account number when logging in which gives a managed customer performance statistics of specifically the gear they are configured on. This far my idea has been to install a separate web server outside our corporate firewall (dmz, actually) and replicate my internal netperfmon db to the DMZ such that no internal communication is required. I think my only major hurdle at this point might be the authentication piece such that it will become very difficult to manually manage the customer base w/ restrictions, and since we use AD internally, this works for pass-thru authentication. However I would like to check/manage users/passwords from my current billing system, which already has hooks into my radius server. Unless I can jerryrig some way of exporting that info to a separate AD/LDAP server with which to authenticate off. Anyone else either done this or looked at providing this type of service?

No, but looking to do something similar (RADIUS/LDAP authentication database) in Cirrus NCM.... I swear I had read somewhere about support for external authentication via LDAP, but can't find it now.. still searching.
