I have Syslog Summary for Today (grouped by message type) resource displayed on my Network Summary view. When I click on message type the assembled URL is http://MyGlitteringOrionServer/Orion/Netperfmon/Syslog.aspx?NetObject=&Period=Today&MessageType=LINK-3-UPDOWN, but all last 250 messages for today are displayed (not only LINK-3-UPDOWN as I'd expected and I believe was the case for previous versions). I experience tha same behavior with SNMP Traps.

Is this probably a bug?

Couple of suggestions:

  • I would like to see Message Type box for filtering Syslog messages populated as with SNMP Trap messages filtering (Trap type box with drop down menu).
  • Display the message type column in the list of Syslog messages.
  • I would welcome the possibilty to sort by columns (e.g. hostname, type, severity) when displaying Syslog and Trap messages in web console, too.
  • Make displayed coumns configurable as in Syslog Viewer. Eh, that would be to much. ;-)

Can you open a Support ticket?  Without more detail, we can't figure out exactly what's up.

Actually it doesn't seem I can. Submit Form button does nothing (syntax error in Netsuite externalcasepage.nl) ;-(. I'll try tomorrow.

Edit: I was successful today, case # 63919.

I am seeing the same problem. Did not see this in v9.0

I have added the Traps Summary resource to the Network Summary Home page. This gives a useful summary of Traps senders sorted high to low (I EDIT to Group Summary Report by Hostname) clicking on any of the resultant hostnames or count displayed will show ALL traps for ALL devices, when expecting to see just the traps for the selected device.

ie clicking the hostname goes to http://orionserver:8787/Orion/Netperfmon/Traps.aspx?NetObject=N:116&Period=Today&Caption=devicehostname and the resulting display is the same as http://orionserver:8787/Orion/NetPerfMon/Traps.aspx, ie all traps

("devicehostname" has been changed from the real name)

This worked perfectly in the previous v9.0, I think the filter is broken when accessed from the Traps Summary resource.

 Stewie,

Please open a Support ticket, and we'll try to reproduce and get it patched.

I've reproduced your issues from the steps you've provided.  I'll get it logged into our internal tracking system so we can get it resolved in a service pack.
