This might be a co-incidence but its just gone past midnight here, and I noticed that opening a custom chart isnt working. The error comments about an out of range exception - which seems likely to point to an issue with the New Year.

Anyone else found this?

You can download the fix from this post:

Thanks to the engineering team for jumping out of vacation mode to fix this so quickly.

IGNORE THIS LINK.  The answer is SP3.

I deleted that hotfix because SP3 supersedes it.  You can get SP3 here.

This SP installed fine on the primary server, but seemed to install way too fast on the Hot standby server. After looking at the hot standby configuration the primary server shows SP3 installed however the Hot Standby is still reporting SP2.

Has anyone else seen this issue with SP3 yet, or have any ideas why it does not install on the Hot standby correctly?

bleearg13:

Is this SP available for the eval versions?  I'm in the middle of doing a complete re-install and I mistakenly ran SP3 on the eval server which caused it to die.  When starting certain services, it says "License check failed", or something to that effect.

You can get the eval version of the SP here: ftp://ftp.solarwinds.net/Orion/ServicePack/Orion9.1-SP3-Eval.zip

I applied this update to my polling server, no issues. When I installed on our web server [additional web server / web console or whatever its called these days :) ] the website is no longer functional, I get a login prompt, and then an error when the site tries to display my home page (network summary).I have a ticket open with support, but they're not there right now. It would be awesome to have this resolved before everyone gets into my work in the AM.

Thanks,

RV

Hi Folks,

Installing SP3 (direct from 9.1 no SP) did not resolve this issues for me,  neither did the work around (ie looking at the last months stats).  I am still get the error below whenever I try to look at a historical graph.

If you're on 9.0 SP2, and cannot, for whatever reason, upgrade to 9.1 SP3, then we have a hotfix for you here:

If you experienced problems on installing SP3, my first recommendation is to re-run the config wizard.  If that doesn't work, please open a Support ticket and include diagnostics.

I successfully loaded SP3 (aready have 9.1) and it resloved the graph bug issue although I did have to manually stop all services and restart one.

Install of SP3 failed from NPM 9.1 SP1 with the following error message:

Website configuration failed:   * Failure updating ASP.NET script maps

I had to exit out of the install wizard and manually restart the services that had stopped. From that point the web portal was unavailable.

It took a reboot of the server to bring the web portal back online. NPM now shows as SP3 installed, however the graph/chart bug still exists.

I've logged a support ticket (#75136) and sent my diagnostics logs but am still waiting on a response.

Anybody else receive the same error message during SP3 install? Or anyone have advice on my next step?

If you haven't heard from Support yet, re-running SP3 would not be a bad idea.  Afterwards, you will get the configuration wizard again.

Hello there. I am new to this forum too. And I am encountering the same problem. We have already downloaded and applied the update to Orion 9.1 SP3 but I am still getting the error when trying to use the Custom Chart.

You have mentioned something about re-running the Configuration Wizard.  If i'll run the Configuration wizard, will it delete the current settings of my NPM system? Is it something like a fresh install again. I would appreciate any response because I need to make this thing work for billing matters.

Thanks in advance.

Ilovelinux

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the reply. Re running the config wizard worked in our case. But, how come I am unable to get the details of last September 2008 report? Well I guess I'll just open up a new thread. Thanks anyways. Problem slightly solved for me :p .
