hello!

So...I'm having trouble with the interface detail chart "min/max/average bps in/out" this is what I used to see...notice all four data types displayed (min/max receive, min/max transmit, average receive bps, and average transmit bps)

now, suddenly today i go to run the same report and i get this (only shows received, and transmitted)

This is extremely bad for me...can someone help me figure out how to fix this?

Thanks!

Are these both the same version and service pack levels? Are the sample intervals the same between both graphs? It almost looks like the database was getting hit hard and couldn't record statistics (only for this interface?) during the time periods that these gaps represent.

Yeah same SP same interval...

You think the DB is the culprit? hmm....any other ideas out there?

Clearly, these aren't exactly the same graphs. Each graph covers a different time period and one is of type Min/Max/Average bps and the other is of type In/Out Average bps. Assuming both graphs represent the same interface, can you post a graph of the last 7 days of type Min/Max/Average bps for this interface?

hi gle...thanks for the responses...
No, this is the same chart under "interface details" that I've always clicked...i run this report for a client every month by just taking screenshots from the Orion NPM website...I've sort of found the issue...and at least have found a workaround...can you advise me on what my next step is to fix this?

So, when i go to the interface details link, say this:
http://orion/Orion/NetPerfMon/InterfaceDetails.aspx?netobject=I:79&view=InterfaceDetails

The first chart in the second column is titled "Min/Max/Average bps In/Out" but it only shows "received" and "transmitted" as points to plot. The error is found when you g to customize...you are led to the link:
http://orion/Orion/NetPerfMon/CustomChart.aspx?ChartName=AvgBps-Line&Title=&SubTitle=&SubTitle2=&Width=0&Height=0&NetObject=I:1441&CustomPollerID=&Rows=&SampleSize=15M&Period=Last 7 Days&PlotStyle=&FontSize=1&NetObjectPrefix=I&SubsetColor=&RYSubsetColor=&ResourceID=50

The key is in the beginning of the link...
http://orion/Orion/NetPerfMon/CustomChart.aspx?ChartName=AvgBps-Line

It's not linking to the correct chart...(the interface details page is not displaying nor linking to the correct chart), this would be correct:
http://orion/Orion/NetPerfMon/CustomChart.aspx?ChartName=MMAvgBps&Title=&SubTitle=&SubTitle2=&Width=640&Height=0&NetObject=I:1441&CustomPollerID=&Rows=&SampleSize=12H&Period=Last%207%20Days&PlotStyle=&FontSize=1&NetObjectPrefix=I&SubsetColor=&RYSubsetColor=&ResourceID=50

See the difference?
CustomChart.aspx?ChartName=MMAvgBps  (vs. AvgBps-Line)

I'm getting the completely wrong chart...I updated to SP5 and it didn't fix it.
Do you get the same results?

What should I do to fix?
(probably will just open a support case with Orion)

Sorry for the slow response. I'm hoping you opened a support ticket already but to follow up, I'm not seeing the same problem on my side here. If you're still experiencing this problem, the only two suggestions I could give would be to:

1) try removing the resource from this view and then adding it back in

2) launch the config wizard again and make sure to select Website as the component to modify

Good luck!
