The welcome kit was a tough decision, balancing quality vs. quantity, and quality won out in the end.

The kit includes the thwack badge, a welcome letter, a quality framed certificate (charter member certificate for the initial folks), and a cool SCP branded travel mug.  You will also be authorized to use the SCP logo to promote yourself, and we're working out the details around usage guidelines and download ability now.

I'm interested to hear feedback on the kit after you receive it, so let us know what you think!

I agree that the certificate is very nice although I have to work at getting the stand piece taken off to hang it flat on the wall, been there, done that, so it is not a big deal.

The travel mug looks very stylish but certainly won't hold 2liters of Mountain Dew at a time.  I thought this was by geeks for geeks :)

The convention would be interesting.  Having some panels on tool usage; panels to hear about new technologies or to voice opinions on future enhancements; something along the lines of the Geek Speak but in person.

Got mine sometime last week while I was out of town.  Agree with most of the comments so far very well put together and love the design for the cert.  Many thanks for the frame and mug as well!!!

I received mine also.  Very nice!  the cert looks great and having it already framed is a nice touch.  Regarding the convention I think it is a great idea.  I have been involved with similar things in the past, and it was great to get to sit down with the team.  The best thing was learning some tricks from them. The most useful were where they had some of the users who had done something unique present how they use it. That always resulted in a huge amount of new ideas, and ways to use and leverage the product.

Just received my kit - but it did have to come all the way to the UK!

Great cert design & its presentation frame is great too. I've not seen a mug like this one before - it's really confortable to use & looks good.

I'm confused about the Thwack badge though. Is it a tie-pin/lapel badge that I've missed or paper printed or did it get left out of the final shipments?

The thwack badge is simply the small 'Certified' badge which is now appearing under your avatar here on thwack.  (look left)

In SCP welcome pack I miss some handy plastic identification card or a badge with name and SCP number on it. It shouldn't be too expensive.

Kevin,

Your best course of action is to email your new address to certification@solarwinds.com, and we'll get it straightened out.

Thanks again for the welcome kit unfortenatley the travel mug printing does not hold up to the power of the all mighty dishwasher so my mug no longer has the logo on it.

I'm glad you guys like the kit, and sorry to hear about the logo coming off.  We knew the logo would be fragile on a stainless surface, but thought having a stainless mug was better than going with a cheaper plastic mug.

(besides, it says "hand wash only" on the bottom )
