I am trying to use NetFlow Configurator on a 6509 running, Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(33)SXI1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3). We are strictly a SNMP v3 shop, so that is how I need to connect. I know that SNMP v3 is working properly as Orion NCM and NPM are working fine with it. However, after I enter the SNMP v3 info into the Configurator, the IP of the target, and try to connect, I get this error:

"A connection could not be made to the specified device. Ensure you have network access to the device and the credentials are correct."

I don't see any log files, so I am not sure how to go about troubleshooting this issue.

The configurator won't work on a 6500. You will need to config by CLI

The following document might help you to configure it using the CLI:

"Enabling NetFlow and NetFlow Data Export on Cisco Catalyst Switches"
