Can someone explain to me how sFLow/Netflow needs setup? Can it only be used on a router? Is it possible to get flows from switched packets or only routed traffic? I'm looking into getting a HP 2610 since it supports sFlow.

Thanks

Try to follow the steps listed in the below doc:

Some switches also support flow technologies. The component on the switch that parses the packets and transform them in flow will have to decode layer 3&4 of the packets to produce meaningful information.

Do you know if the 2610 supports decoding layer 3 and 4?

Thanks!
