Hello all!

Currently we upgraded to 9.5.  NPM and the application is working properly except when I attempt to go into the System Manager and want to look at some of the interfaces and traffic reports.

For example I want to look at the top 25 current in/out bps, when I click on it the report should appear on the right pane.  At this time all it does is sit there thinking, and cause cpu cycles to increase on the NPM server.  I have to close out of the application and I get this in the event viewer:

Hanging application OrionNetPerfMon.exe, version 9.5.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

Any suggestions on how I can get the System Manager to work again? (Oh btw I have rebooted the server already)

Hi,

You should try to repair the installation and see if it helps.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

Select Orion Network Performance Monitor and click on Change.

Select the Repair option and follow the steps.

If that does not work, run a Process Monitor trace filtering on the OrionNetPerfMon.exe process just before to open the report.

Open a support ticket, attach the diagnostics + the process monitor traces.

Thanks,

Yann

Glad it worked :). I forgot to add that you need to reapply the latest service pack after a repair.

Thanks,

Yann

I just wanted to chime in to let others know that this worked for me as well.  I was having strange issues with System Manager, specifically with e-mail Trigger actions.  Any time I selected an action that required an e-mail, System manager would lock up.  I repaired the install, applied the latest service pack, and everything worked as expected.
