Frustrated.....

I spent a long time getting my filter settings just right in EOC for Nodes, etc., saved them and liked the results.

I then made a change to the resources on the page (removed the Gloabal Active Alerts) and then saw that I had no data displayed under the Global nodes. I clicked on Edit and saw that my filter defaulted back to what I had initially. I have modifiied and tested numerous variations and it saved them along the way (as data display resulted).

Why is this happening???? If I set a filter and save it then shouldn't it stay regardless whether I add or remove a non-related resource?

Hi sotherls!

The behavior is dependent on the state of the "Reset view for all users" checkbox in the initial screen of View Manager (first tab "Edit Details"). The checkbox is checked by default which causes loosing all user's personalized settings whenever you click "Ok, Save Changes" button. It doesn't matter if you changed settings just only for one resource, moved it to another column, or whatever. If you uncheck the checkbox the user's personalized settings should be retained.

Sorry for the delay. I unchecked that feature and saved yet everytime I go back in to manage that view it is still checked. If I have to remember to uncheck that everytime it is going to cause problems. All it will take is one time to forget and it will wipe out all users settings - not a good option.

Could you recode it to be unchecked by default?

Hi Scott--

I'll mark this for development and the product manager to make them aware of the issue. Also, I'd suggest opening a support ticket and see what they say.

Scott,

There is no need for you to open a support ticket.  We've already filed your request in dev and PM approves of the idea.

Thanks,

David
