I vaguely remember that you could put the username and password into a url to get the page displayed instanlty, instead of having to enter the username and password

Using
http://solarwinds/NetPerfMon/login.asp?Accountid="admin"
With no password set works.
But what do I add to the url to add the password
http://solarwinds/NetPerfMon/login.asp?Accountid="admin" Password="PASSWORD"
I have tried ?=
?

And none of them work. anyone any ideas?

Good afternoon,

I in the past have been using the above command to auto login. It worked great until we just recently upgraded to 8.5. Has anyone also upgraded and have a similar issue.

After searching further posts I found the work around. Apparently this will be fixed in Hotfix 2 of 8.5. Here is the work around if anyone needs it.

Also note - if you have a + (plus) in your password. It may not work.

I am using Orion NPM 9.1 SP 1, is there a way to block users from using auto login? I want to force them to have to read the Warnings and Legal info that i have displayed on the login screen.

What form of autologin are you using? A DirectLink account or Windows auth?

You should be able to simply disable the DirectLink account.

So if I understand what you are looking for, you want to allow anyone to log in, but they should have to go past the login page with the legal message first.

If I were implementing that, I would kill the DirectLink account and use a Guest account instead. Put the username and password in the Site Login Text so anyone who doesn't have their own Orion account can use it. When people click some external link to an Orion page, they will get bounced to the login page. After they read the text and enter the Guest credentials, they will be redirected to the original link.

Would that cover it?

Well, I am trying to figure out a way that I can force anyone, even those that have created a shorcut on their desktops with their account info, to have to view the login warning. I could create some web page redirects so anyone trying to go to the home page will get redirected to a license page to read and click on an accept the message.

It sounds like you want to be able to disable the auto-login feature that passes login credentials in the URL. Unfortunately, I don't think this currently exists.

As an alternative, there is a thread out there that customized the summary page to include the "Site Login Text" as a marquee at the top. Depending on your situation, it may or may not work for you.
