Any idea on when/if Solarwinds Wireless Network Monitor will support Cisco Wireless LAN controllers? I'm even willing to donate one or two to Solarwinds if it would help get development started.
Would it help if I asked nicely?
P L E A S E ? ?
I figured it was worth a shot
I don't expect us to do that. We realize it would be useful functionality, but with limited resources, we expect to put more weight behind delivering on more of the outstanding core Orion feature requests, which means you still ultimately win.

Let me take a shot at translating this..
Question = Will Cisco LWAPs be supported by the Orion Wireless Module within the next year?
Short Answer = No
Long Answer = No, but you'll have some cool new features in Orion instead

I'm another customer with a number of LWAPs deployed. Currently about 33% of our APs are LWAPs, and we are getting ready to convert more of our larger sites in the near future.
Of course we still have trouble getting the Network discovery to find our regular Cisco APs and without the time to manually enter all of them we are basically not using this module at all.
Add us to the list. We currently have the wireless module but will be converting 60 APs in 08. I guess it looks like we wont renew that module if it will be useless.
Oh and we also have a WLSE.
I would also like to put my voice forward to see if WLC and LWAPP will be supported we currently have 175 LWAPP AP's and that's growing month on month.
We are in the beginnings of a migration to LWAPP AP's globallly and this would be a disaster if they are not supported.
I will also have to eliminate using the wireless module as I have already converted over 80 AP's to the cisco wifi controller using LWAPP
We are getting ready to move over 800 access points to LWAPP, this will take the wireless module off the list of things to buy :(

We would also like to see this feature.
Our entire organization is on the Cisco Controllers
Any updates for the roadmap for this?
Add us to the list too......guess we'll have to purchase the WCS. Also, Orion needs to have some kind of rogue detection alerting!!!
Add us as well. We are migrating our APs to LWAP now. There isn't much use for the module then, and very little on the AP can be monitored once it is migrated.

all i can say is SIGH!!!!!!!!!!
i am also awaiting this integration. until then, i have uploaded a template to the sharing zone to at least download the config from the WLC. hope this might help a bit, but it does nothing for the monitoring of the lightweight aps.
Denny - Is there some place in the forums that is being tallied to see how many of your customers have a need for Cisco WLC functionality in Wireless Network Monitor? Being in a Network Consulting company, I see more and more of our customers going this way. We have one customer that is in the process of installing 22 WLCs for hundreds of APs that only have PING capabilities. I searched in the SolarWinds Product Feature Requests Forum and didn't really find anything.
