**Edited, as subject of thread has changed from login error to maps display error**

First off, I'd like to say hello as this is my first post here. (hello to the Corona folks as well)

Looking around, I see other having similar problems, but  not identical to mine.  Should anyone have any info, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've been using 8.1 for a bit now, with no problems, but today I decided to upgrade to 8.5.  All seems to have gone well with the exception of my web interface.  When I log in now, I either get an invalid login/pw for my normal login, or an error page when I log in as a main admin login.

_______

Orion Website Error

An error has occurred with the Orion website.

Additional Information

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at ClassicSiteProxy.Login(HttpContext context, String username, String password)
at Login.DoLoginAction(String username, String password)
at Login.LoginButton_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
at Login.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive()
at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

_________

I've opened a service ticked, but as I stated above, any info is good info.

Thanks,
Ed

Ah, as informed by Support, I failed to find where IIS needed changed.  Once that happened, my logins started working.

Now I have the problem of Cannot load Network Map from "C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Maps\MetroNetMain1024.OrionMap" . I see where others have had this problem, but alas, I cannot find a solution here.  Any suggestions, directions would be yet again appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

suggestion-  try Running the Website portion of the Configuration Wizard to resolve this.

I found that solution on another post just a bit ago and did just that. It appears to have run through normally.  I cannot be 100% certain because the Wizard has changed.  I no longer get the tabs, just the check boxes (witch I know to be normal) but as the Wizard progresses, I get no options, it just stops services, "does it's thing", restarts the services, then I'm back to square one.  I have no indication that this is abnormal behavior of the Wizard other than not having options to change anything.

...and this is just check marking the Website box? Does it ever ask if you want to use the existing website?

Ah, it does.  It says there is an exsisting website, which there is, would you like you use it?  I say yes at this step.

It asks the settins

IP Address (All Unassigned)
Port 80
Website Root Directory   D:\InetPub\Solarwinds

all of which should be accurate
It says "A website exists with the same name, IP adress, and TCP port binding. Do you want to use the existing website?"

I say "yes" (as well as hit the button) :)

Ok, I'm back in, but I'm at the 'place' where Everything is working except the maps. :(

To recap, I've repaired via Config Wizard, Add/Remove Programs, have all hotfixes applied,  and have attempted re-linking the maps within the web interface.  No dice.

Look in the look in the C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Maps for any .Orionmap files and see if there are other maps in there. Will they open?

Do you have a backup of your maps folder you could copy into the map directory folder?

All my maps are there.  In my upgrade procedure, I made a copy of Maps and Reports folders on my desktop... post-upgrade, I put them back where they belonged.  They open in Map Maker just fine.

By the way Mark, I want to give you another "Thanks".  I do appreciate your help.

have you tried renaming the map? also verify the permissions to the maps since you have copied them back.

Within Map Maker, I did a "save as..." and gave a map a new name.  Within the web interface, I directed the Network Map to this newly saved map.  No luck.

Re-run the Config Wizard and overwrite the Website- create a new one.
