I have Orion SLX on a box and utilzie an external SQL database. The Orion SQL user has full permission to the database. I have created custom pollers and can pull values from the devices I am polling when I use the "Test" button from within the "Cusom MIB Poller Wizard". However, the web interface always displays "no data". I have restarted the MIB Polling service on the box to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

To view from your web console you will need to add the resources to the views in your web console.

Thanks Mark, I have already set up the view. Also, I have already viewed the presentation you supplied. I did those before before posting to the forum. To clarify, I recieve values via the "Custom MIB Poller" wizard via the "Test" button. While the output to the web interface in "Node Details" does display the custom poller it does NOT indicate any value, rather it reads "no data".

I have almost the same problem, it works when I only select one or 2 devices, but as soon as I add a whole bunch then I also get "NO DATA" the poller stops collecting data.

I have opened a ticket with support on this.

It would be intresting to see how many people have this issue.

CustomPollerStatistics will be populated IF the custom poller is set up as a historical poller. The CustomPollerStatistics view contains the delta in the Total column and the averages in the AvgRate column. These are calculated when written to the DB.

There  are stats but very few. Certainly not what I would expect. I have battery input voltage setup for less than 10 UPS's, ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusValue for over 100 Cisco switches, and nsrpLinkInfoState for 4 Netscreen firewalls. Below is the total sum of what has been collected since 9/28/07.

Upgrading to either the latest 8.1 hotfix or to 8.5 should fix this problem.

Thanks, considering the problems I've seen others having with 8.5 I believe I'll apply the hotfix for 8.1 first.

Magic Man - We've upgraded to 8.5 and no longer have the problem, sorta. We are now polling. However, some devices do not poll. Specifically we are polling for temp on Cisco 3750 switches. All are configured with the same SNMP communities. However some poll and some don't. So, new issue to overcome.

I am having the same issue, I have opened a case about this. I would check to see if it is realy polling or just showing you the last value polled.

I can poll a certain amout of deives and everything works, once I add that last one, it shows  "NO DATA" but the other still seem like they are polling but in fact the have also stopped.

Running 8.5 with all the fixes and working with support on this. still no resolution.
