    Response time is off the chart

    I just installed Orion 8.1 (Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition 64bit OS) I added nearly 300 nodes, and then noticed that the response times for all of these nodes were off the chart. 20000 ms and higher.

     I also ran Ping Sweep and Enhanced Ping from Orion and got the same results.

     The problem only happens on this server, the rest of my network is fine.

    Well, there's the obvious:  port speed/duplex on the server ... I've run into problems when BOTH the switch port and the server port were set to auto.

    Have you done a traceroute to see where the traffic actually goes?

    Finally, and this is the hardest, try starting out with only a few nodes to monitor ... add in a logical fashion until you hit that wall.
