    ALL my cisco switches are coming up "machine type unknown" ... they are being monitored, just not identified except by IP address ... how do I get maching type and host name added ??

    This is my first attempt at a Solarwind install

     Have you already enabled SNMP on your switches? If so, what model are they and what IOS version are they running?

    I was checking that exact thing when I realized that an ACL in the switch was blocking SNMP traffic.

    New guy mistake, sorry to bother
