    PLC device Management (Allen-Bradley)

Has anyone attempted to use Cirrus to manage PLC equipment?  We discovered a test PLC during our initial setup of Orion and Cirrus.  That department is interested in learning if we can use Cirrus to mange any and all PLC configurations.

    OID 1.3.6.2.4.2.95.1.12

    Machine Type Allen-Bradley Company, Inc.

    Description Rockwell Automation 1756-ENBT

    Cheers,
    Dale

The requirement is for the PLC equipment to have a cli and have text based configs.  If both of these requirements are met, modifying or adding device templates should provided the ability to manage the devices in Cirrus.

    Hi Haley:

I believe they do meet that requirement, but was wondering if anyone else has experience with PLC or if we will be the first.

Since some of our customers customize their own device templates, I cannot say for sure whether any of our customers are managing PLC devices with Cirrus.  Hopefully, if these devices are being managed by some of our customers, someone will be able to chime in within this forum :)  If you would like assistance creating a device template, I recommend contacting support at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b.
