I have an odd one here.
I have a 2950 and a 2611XM on my Lab network and several other devices.
When I run a scan It will show all the devices, but it will not show the MAC Address or the Port on to which the device is connected to the 2950. But if I run a report, the MACS and Port number will show in the report. Any thoughts? Have not seen this on any other Map I have scanned throughout our network! Thanks
Hi Fluxeon,
You may want to try the following:
- Open the map
- Click the Tools drop-down menu
- Click Options
- Select the Miscellaneous tab
- Check the "Use switch port index rather than network interface name" * this is usually needed for Cisco switches.
- Also check "Map switch/hub ports"
- Click Ok
With these settings in place, try to create new map scanning the same network, you should get the MAC address and the Ports.
Let me know if this worked.

Sorry this did not work.
This is very strange.
Thanks of the update, did you create a new map once you had enabled all the options:
"Use switch port index rather than network interface name"
"Map switch/hub ports"
If so, let me know and we will open a case in support in order to find out why the ports are not displayed on the map.
Cheers,

Yes I did. Closed the old map out w/o saving and retried. Same experiance.
