    Monitor Additions

It would be great if a montior could be created to test a Citrix or RDP connetion and also some sort of printer test.

Also if its possible to take any of the monitor where its an application test across a network and split out the response time of the network and also the response time of the applications so if your running a telnet monitor it would display the network response and the telnet response as seperate figures, while the single figure gives us an idea what the response time is, if it goes sluggish we can't 100% say its the application or network as we don't know.

Could you describe in more detail what you believe would be involved in testing a Citrix or RDP connection?   Is this accessing a website with forms-based login?   Or is this testing a particular port for an appropriate response?

    Re: Monitor Additions

Citrix we use both website forms based login and the standard desktop Citrix client and RDP is just a desktop client. It would be good if the monitor not only looked at the port but also logged into a particular RDP or Citrix session and returned the time it took for the login process. A lot of our applications are going over to Citrix particularly and the number of reports we get that the network is slow when after two way slagging match between us and the applications support team it turns out that its acutally Citrix that isn't releasing logins and gradually grinds to a halt.

    Thanks

    Jon
