We are a small "SAAS/ASP" company (with very limited technical staff) which depends heavily upon the availability of our servers and back-end networking equipment. That said, we had been looking for, and evaluating network monitoring applications for the last 6 months. After evaluating Orion, it only took about two hours to make a unanimous decision!
Orion has everything we were looking for in one package, with a customizable web interface for quick "at a glance" views, e-mail threshold notifications, custom snmp polling, and network uptime statistics. We've had Orion for less than 3 months, and it has already paid for itself.

Would you be willing to share what other monitoring tools you have looked at. Were they designed for SMBs or were they commercial packages designed for larger enterprises (i.e. openview, unicenter, etc.)
