    Account Security / Filtering

I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but we are now needing a way to filter out nodes per user account like we can do in Orion.  I'm going to have server members accessing Cirrus to look at server inventory but as of now, and what I can see, there is no way to set their accounts to only see windows servers and not my network devices.

There isn't currently a way to filter access to nodes in Cirrus per user account, but we definitely have this on our roadmap.   Just curious, what is the business driver for this need in your environment?

We will potentially have different teams accessing Cirrus to look at inventory, etc for windows and Linux servers as well.  Today it's just network devices so if I add servers and they need access then they can see everything.  Furthermore we need a better way to give say "read-only" access so people can look at configs, inventory, etc but do not have the ability to push changes, run scripts, etc to these devices.

Chris....can Cirrus inventory windows/Linux servers or is this strictly a network product?  we are looking to see if it can inventory these devices as well.

Cirrus gathers the following from on servers using SNMP.  For your Linux devices, you should be able to get most of these details by installing the free Net-SNMP agent.

    • System Info
    • IP Addresses
    • Interfaces
    • ARP table
    • Route table
    • TCP ports
    • UDP ports
    • Windows services
    • Windows accounts
    • Windows software

    Re: Account Security / Filtering

I don't have any Linux boxes just yet...I did discover 2 Windows boxes but I'm not getting any inventory out of them.  Even for things like you'd expect in the "Windows" stuff you listed.
