SolarWInds Exchange monitor is a great way to monitor your exchange server and instantly know if there is anything going south with exchange. Lukily I haven't needed to use it for an outage, but I do constantly see it updating with lots of valuable information relating to exchange. It even shows my free disk space and processor information! Good stuff!
