I just installed the latest version on my new laptop running Vista. It went through setup fine and created the shortcuts on my desktop but anytime I try to use any of the tools including the launchpad it acts like its opening (the mouse working animation) then nothing happens. I tried a reboot and I just installed SP1 for the toolset and still the same thing.
Has anyone else seen this issue or have any ideas to what may be the cause or how to fix.
Thanks.
Would this be a 64bit OS?
No it is 32 bit, but I am new to Vista and I discovered the cause (I believe). While setting up my laptop I got annoyed with all of those confirmation windows that Vista likes to pop up so I disabled "User Account Control", which got rid of the messages. Well I re-enabled it and rebooted and the toolset worked. It threw a lot of errors so I uninstalled the tool set and reinstalled with "User Account Control" enabled and everything works fine now. Thank you though.
good catch- I've believe that the Vista SP1 makes the User Account Control (UAC) features a little less overbearing
Hi,
I got "error 1045" when I install the Toolset. Could anyone give a hand? Thanks in advance.
Charles
Could you provide more details.? What OS? Installing as Local Admin? What is the entire error message?
I have the standard Toolset DVD. when I install it. It showed "error 1045" and after clicking ok showed "file execution failed, elevation required".
