Hi,
I have some new Cisco 1250 APs installed and listed in the Wireless Networks Summary page. When I click on them, they show the usual dashboard, etc, but they're missing the Active Wireless Clients list. Is there something I need to do to make that appear? The other APs have that section listed.
Thanks,
Lily
Hi Lilly,
Are the others 1250's also?
Andy
No, the others range from 1220s, 1231s, or 1240s. They all show the Active Wireless Clients only the 1250 does not.
Sounds like a MIB issue on the 1250's. Can you do a MIB walk on them?
I did a MIB walk on one of them though I'm not totally sure what I'm doing or looking for. I saw the client listed next to a cdp listing. The other weird thing is, when I did the MIB walk using the Engineer's Tool, the AP rebooted. What should I be looking for?
Also, when I go into Wireless Monitor > Wireless Networks, and then go into the AP itself, I can click on the Current Wireless Clients link and it shows the connected wireless clients in there with all the info like IP, name, etc... Just weird that this part of the software shows it but the Orion website doesn't.
Thanks for any assistance...
If you look at the 'Node Details' for the 1250's, you'll find that the 'Machine Type' is only listed as 'Cisco' (with no other description).
I think this causes Orion to not recognize this device as a wireless device ?
You can force the wireless view to the Object Type 'Cisco' by going to Admin>Views by Device Type and select the webview 'Wireless Access Point' for the Object Type 'Cisco'.
It's not the ultimate fix, but it should give you the view you are after for the 1250's.
