Hi. I am evalutating APM and it looks great except I am confused on how many instances of lsass it is monitoring. I'm moving from a Linux and Novell world to Windows so it might be my ignorance on how the guts of windows works.
APM is showing 3 instances of lsass on ADDC3 but I only see one running on ADDC3. Is this typical?
thanks
In the screenshot when you show lsass three times in the "Top 10 Process Monitor" resource, what are the urls each of the "lsass" links point to?
 http://netmon.morainepark.edu/Orion/APM/MonitorDetails.aspx?NetObject=AM:136
 http://netmon.morainepark.edu/Orion/APM/MonitorDetails.aspx?NetObject=AM:137
http://netmon.morainepark.edu/Orion/APM/MonitorDetails.aspx?NetObject=AM:133
And the process ID for each of these links is 376 which matches what is on ADDC3.
If it matters, the problem server is 64 bit Windows 2003 R2.
Ok. It is showing up 3 times because you have 3 different monitors all watching the same service. Are there multiple component monitors listed in the "Active Directory Services" Application Details page, or do you have multiple "Active Directory Services" application monitors assigned to to that node?
On that same top 10 resource, what page does "Active Directory Services" link to for the three?
It doesn't look like I am monitoring the same thing 3 times.
(ignore the down warnings - that is the APM bug mentioned in another post)
And it is assigned only once to the server.
They all link to the same URL:
http://netmon.morainepark.edu/Orion/APM/ApplicationDetails.aspx?NetObject=AA:20
That is very odd. I think at this point we'd need to open up a support ticket so that we can get your diagnostics.
If you don't want to mess with that, you could try deleteing the application and then re-assiging it.
