Ok so I just did a job that was a config download of all of my devices that had a vendor name matching cisco. It didn't bring in any of the switches that I have set up. Do I have to do an inventory of the network before I do this?
All of the devices that it got the configs of say "imported" under the node group column. The devices it didn't get the config for say "catalyst 3524PS'" or some variation of that.
You don't have to do an inventory, but you'll need to ensure SNMP is enabled so that the Node Monitoring/Rediscovery service can pull in the system details (including vendor). FYI, you can also group by vendor in left pane by right-clicking and "Select Fields and Grouping" to change group by field.
I'd recommend going to some of the switches you've setup and clicking Verify Login Information to verify that Cirrus can connect and log in to the device successfully. If this doesn't work, the download will always fail.
Would you mind posting the job log in your post? Right-click on your scheduled job and select View Job Log.
It doesn't come up as a failure it just doesn't even try them.
The devices are imported from my Orion database. They are all reachable via snmp. This is how I got them into Orion. I have manually downloaded the config of multiple devices and they have all come through fine. Is there a 500 device limit on the scheduled jobs? It seems kinda odd to me that we have exactly 500 devices that the configs are downloaded from.
The plot thickens.
If I select each device individually it will first not know the vendor or any information. Once I validate the snmp credentials then it gets everything. It knows the vendor, device type, etc.
If I validate login information it fails. So I am assuming I can download configs but not upload them.
