Use the Toolset from Windows Loopback IP

    Hello,

Is there any way I can configure Toolset to use the Windows Loopback IP to manage the remote devices?

We have tight security rule and only allow specific IP in the SNMP.

     Thanks.

kt8993 - In what tool in the toolset would you be referring to?

If you would like to send SNMP request packets with a source address of 127.0.0.1, the agent responding to the request would not know where to send it back to since that address is not valid.

    Please clarify...

    Thanks,

    Greg

hm...That's right.  I didn't think about that.  I was thinking about using the existing IP of a management server...but the reply would go to that server, not my PC...

I am referring to all the tools that require SNMP.

    Thanks.

It sounds like what your looking for is some sort of SNMP proxy server. This is probably possible using a socks 5 proxy but there is nothing inherent in the Engineers Toolset that will allow you to proxy SNMP request through a centralized server.
