I have a Leibert A/C unit which I am trying to monitor. I have received the MIBs from Leibert for this unit however I can't seem to make them all work through Orion using the custom MIB poller. I am able to get some of the MIBs to respond though the real information I want, i.e. alerts and environemental conditions, I am unable to get to work. For example, I am able to get the MIB about a condition present to respond. This MIB successfully returns a value of any alarm condition present. The problem is this MIB only returns an integer based on the number of alarm conditions present. The MIB which describes the alarm ID or any MIB for a specific type of alarm does not work. Solarwinds tells me that "the OID is not supported" when using the SNMP Get Next Request or "no value was returned" when using the SNMP Get request even though the Leibert documentation says this MIB is supported by the card. Has anyone else had any similar problems or can anyone offer any suggestions here?
I'm having a similar problem with an IBM AIX server. There are IBM mibs in the database, and the device is recongnized, but not the interface mib. Therefore, I don't get any other information other than ICMP. I'm at a loss.
AIX uses non-standard MIBs. In Orion 9, you should be able to poll that data via our new custom poller.
I have recently updated to Orion V9, and I am still getting the same issue. This is on AIX v5.3 and I still get the issue the interface MIB is not supported.
Any ideas would be helpful.
The Universal Device Poller will let you set up pollers for the non-standard interface MIB's. You can then create charts and gauges for these pollers.
This is outside of everything that Orion typically does for interfaces. Unfortunately, since AIX doesn't provide the standard interface MIB's, Orion can't ever see them as interfaces.
