    SolarWinds and Security

This week on Thwack we launched a new Security forum http://thwack.com/forums/36.aspx hosted by our first ever guest moderator, Brian Kirouac, aka melloman http://thwack.com/members/melloman.aspx.  Thanks Brian!

I would like to encourage all of our users - especially Orion, Toolset, and LANsurveyor customers - to subscribe to the forum and give us your thoughts http://thwack.com/forums/ForumSubscriptions.aspx.  In the past we have had a great number of people in the security field comment on the usefulness of SolarWinds applications for security purposes.  Network scans, MIB browsing, NetFlow analysis, DNS traces, and the list goes on.  SolarWinds products have been highlighted in security books such as the recent "Hacking VoIP Exposed"  http://www.hackingvoip.com/index.php

We would love your feedback on what security problems you use SolarWinds for today and what you would like to see from us in the future.  And feel free to ask melloman any security questions you have - he is a security expert that has even trained the NSA.  And lots of other people he probably can't talk about.
