Just got Solar Winds Engineering Tool set and love many features. I had been having some issues using the Port Mapper program that will interogate a switch and return useful information such as port status, speed, MAC address, IP address and DNS name. However, the evaluation software will not return the last 3 items - you just have to imagine ! But, after licensing the product, it still refuses to return this information ( IP address, DNS Address ) Tech support has so far been unable to figure this out even with a trace file. However, it pays to read the documentation ! You must enter BOTH switch and router when mapping the switch because it is the router that is queried for the arp table. Go figure !
