  • APM Feature Request / Feedback

I didn’t see this thread in the Forum so I thought I would pipe up. I would like to have the ability to add a node that is a (service) not an icmp/snmp based node. It’s up down status drawn from the APM engine with the node displayed within the Orion Network Performance Monitor application and visible...

  • Monitoring non-default Instances of SQL Server 2005

I am trying to monitor a server with APM v2 that has the default instance of SQL Server disabled. There is a non-default instance of SQL Server 2005 running on the server but I don't see in the new v2 SQL Server template (or old SQL Server template for that matter) where you can specify a particular...

  • APM 2 - How to Update Node Status and Network Map

Hi Folks, I'm running APM v2 and NPM 9 SP2. I have 3 veritas HA clusters each with an active and standby node. I'd like to be able to configure APM / NPM so that the active node in each cluster is green and the standby node is non-green (yellow or grey). This would be determined based on the...

  • Gauges for Statistical Data from WMI Performance Counter Objects

Hi, After having upgraded recently to APM V2, I found a way of getting a graph of the statistical data generated by a WMI performance counter object, but is there a way I can use a gauge rather than a graph for the data? For example, we have several citrix servers, and I wanted to have a gauge of the...

I am currently evaluating the Orion Network Performance Monitor and the Application Performance Monitor. I am attempting to monitor my Exchange 2003 server using the Exchange Server 2000 and 2003 (APM 2.0) module and I am able to see most all of the components but I am not able to get the following components...

  • DNS User Experience Monitor

Hi, Does anyone know what sort of syntax APM is looking for in the 'Expected DNS query results' field for the DNS User Experience Monitor? I have captured response packets and put the exact syntax from the answer section in this field but it still shows as 'Down: Search String Not Found....

  • Assign universal node pollers based on custom properties.

I would find it very useful to be able to assign a poller to a set of nodes based on a custom property. I currently monitor 1400+ nodes and 6500+ interfaces and the current interface for assigning pollers is not efficient.

  • APM Application and Component status now only up/down no Warning/Critical

Has anyone else noticed when they go into their Advance Alerts configurations that the status of either Components or Applications only allows up or Down. Earlier versions allowed me to monitor Warning and Critical status. What gives? Charles
