Before we purchased Solarwinds we had been using some other products to monitor our network. These products were very expensive and extremely time consuming. It was very difficult to pull reports and gather the data you needed to troubleshoot a problem. It got to a point that we nearly quit using these...

My company has been using Solar Winds Orion since version 7 due to bad network managers. It was never fully utilized until I came along and started working on getting all of the network equipment put in, custom properties, user based views, advanced alerts, custom polling, and other related goodies....

Re: SolarWinds
I am a Network Engineer working for the DoD. We started using Orion NetPerfMon and Cirrus about year ago. I can not say enough about this product. You can get as much information from these two products as you desire. Below are some of the features I like to use with these products. Orion - Network device...

Subnet Calc
This tool is a must have! I keep it handy, installed on my Quick Launch toolbar so I can use it whenever I need it. We all learn how to subnet, but when the time comes nobody wants to break out paper and pencil! This tool does it much faster and more accurate than I can. It should be a part of every...

Solar Winds Port Mapper

Best software out there for networking!
We decide to purchase the solarwinds orion package about a year ago. It has been the best thing the company has ever done for the Netoworking area. It is money well spent. I use the alerting engine to watch over 40 servers. I know the what where and when something is about it happen. I would recomment...

Solarwinds subnet calculator
Hello, my name is Chris from Gateway Health Plan. I am the firewall administrator for our network and find the Advanced Subnet Calculators very useful at calculating subnet masks. It really saves a bunch of time not having to manually calculate them, you just type in the address range and it will spit...
