Variables
SMPP messaging ???
I am setting up SMS alerts with a perl.exe. I have run in to a problem that I do not know how to send environmental variables to the pl file that is relaying my SMS messages. Are the variables known when the alerts are triggered or will they have to be a sql query to be able to give me a more specific...

Building a custom alert based on "Last Database Update"
I'm not sure why I am having such a struggle with this one, It seems to me that it should be very easy to do. I am trying to build an alert that triggers when the polling engine status field "Last Database Update" or "Last Database Sync" reaches a specific time limit. for example...

SNMP trap alerts not firing after changes

Uptime SNMP and reboot messages
Our solarwinds orion box started reporting a bunch of devices as "rebooted" over the past couple weeks. After looking into the problems, it appears as the uptime integer counter actually rolled over. it is a 32bit number of 1/10 seconds. Doing some math, I figured that every 419 days of uptime...

Send Alert emails to the SNMP Contact name(s)
I am setting up "Node down" Alerts, and trying to Alert only the specific support persons needed for the specific Node. Each server has 1 or 2 site people that should get the alert, and 1 or 2 regional people. So, just about every Node has a different list to email to. I could setup a separate...

Suppression Frustration
I have read a number of previous threads on suppressions through the advanced alerting and I understand the limitations in terms of device dependencies. That said I am trying to build an alert that will be suppressed for a given location if that location's 2 edge routers are down (dual connected...

Advanced alerts not triggering
Hi I want to trigger an alert based on a custom binary property and node status. My conditions are something like this: Node Status is equal to Down CustomProperty is equal to Yes However, this alert never triggers. The same condition (without custom property) works fine in basic alerts and triggers...
