  • Re: GSM Modems for Alerting

At the time of ipMonitor purchase, we got a Multitech GPRS modem and now it turns out that it does not work with ipMonitor at all (during alert test all I get is "Error: The outbound alert message did not reach its destination. The test failed." ). What's the tricky part with Multitech...

  • Sending Alerts

Hi: I have an ipMonitor 9.0 in a client's site, the port 25 is not available for SMTP. The way to send mails in that network is through the port 465 with SSL. I can configure my Outlook with my company's account, with the same port. How can I configure the ipMonitor 9.0 to send e-mails through...

  • ipMonitor 9 Dependencies

Does ipMonitor 9 understand implicit dependencies? For example, Device #1 has Monitors A and B and Monitor A is a dependency of the device. Device #2 has Monitor C and Monitor B is a dependency the device. If monitor A goes down no alert will be triggered for Monitor B but will an alert be triggered...

  • SMS Native from ipMonitor 9?

Hi everyone. I'm currently evaluating ipMonitor9, and I have some questions regarding its functionality. Is it possible for ipMonitor to send out SMS alerts when a monitor enters a failed state? For example, I've got it watching our Exchange Server, which is all well-and-good, but if Exchange...

  • %monitoraddr% adds the description as well

Is there a way to return just the monitor address instead of the extra information it adds Example: %monitoraddr% returns the following servername.whatever:161 (D:\ Label:Data Serial Number 780c5592) All I want to return is servername.whatever:161 Also, is it possible to use this token in alerts?

  • IPM v9 - E-mail notifications working intermittently

Hi there. We installed IPM v9 (build 1236) a few months ago on a Windows Server 2003 and on the whole it is going well. However the main method that we were going to use to alert us was to send e-mails to the appropriate support people. After checking and cross-checking, the only time that IPM is sending...

Here's my small wishlist for SP2 or 9.0.2 :-) When navigating to monitor properties from search results screen and then saving it, is it possible to postback to search results? Currently postback brings me to "My Network" and I have to click "Last results" again to move on to...

  • Re: Event Log Alerts - How can you display what was in the log

The only tokens that I see for Windows event log are: %capture[category] %capture[computername] %capture[logfile] %capture[sourcename] %capture[timewritten] %capture[user] Is there any way to retrieve Type and EventID?

  • Can you use the short address in Alerts?

Can you use the "short address description" in Alerts? Also, what about returning the threshold for drive space monitors? These don't seem to be available tokens in the Alerts section.
