Advanced alerts: Bytes to MB/GB ?
I would like to replicate low disk space alerts from basic to advanced (So I can filter using custom properties) . I would like our Dev team to get alerts for DEV servers, apps for apps servers, etc. I have the query setup and working properly, but the only values that I can send in an alert is Bytes...

Custom Multi-Graph Displays
Well, i've beat up google and the documents and the forums and I'm either not finding it (most likely) or nobody has talked about it. We are running the latest version of Orion. I'm trying to figure out how to do either a custom report or custom view that would allow me to display the packets...

Telnet url in Orion 8.1 & IE 7
This topic is not about enabling the telnet URL but I've included a fix within this thread for those who may find it useful. I'm talking about the usage of telnet:// (*) links within IE7 (**). One of the challenges I see here on orion 8.1 is that the telnet URL within a node, page, or anything...

Virtualized Orion ?
Is it possible to Virtualise a server running Orion Network Performance Monitor? I'm planning to virtualise my Orion system onto Vmware ESX v3.0.2. I'm currently running Orion v8.0.2 though planning to upgrade to V8.1 before I virtualise. Has anyone had any experience of this? Any show stoppers...

database maintenance failing
The nightly database maintenance job on our installation of Orion (8.1.0, on a virtual 64-bit sql server instance) consistently fails on the rebuild indexes step. The message in the job log is: "[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 01000)] Error 0: This server has been disconnected. You must reconnect...

Questionable values for SQL report - Packets per second
I'm using this simple query, hoping to find out the daily max usage of any given device in the network. I'm going by this PDF: http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/downloads/765/tools/quickreference/routerperformance.pdf as a reference for estimated packets per second and Mbps. The returned PPS...

BMC Service Impact Manager
If anyone is using BMC's Service model editor I would be interested in knowing how you are working with the alias fields. I've only really defined two of them which are correlating to Node Up/Down; interface up/down. I'd be interested in correlating additional alerts into it.

DirectLink functionality in 8.5 broken?
Hey everyone. I searched around some on this but didn't see anything. Did the DirectLink account functionality stop working in the recent 8.5 version or Orion? We upgrade from 8.1 to 8.5 and all of the external custom web pages we had built can no longer access graphs via direct URL links. They require...

Engines stopped after server power failure?
My Orion server (oh and all my other servers...!) experienced a power outage last week. Once power was restored and the boxes where rebooted all seemed well. However I checked the status of the Orion services today to find that they hadn't been running since the outage. In the System event log I...

wrong util and interface load data due to ifMib counter rollovers. How to make sure it uses ifXmibs?
Hi: We are using Orion NPM version 8.1.0 We have a gigabit ethernet over which a large amount of data are transferred. During this transfer, the actual interface util is observed around 80% (800mbps). This util is observed on the device and by a 3rd party snmp poller/charting program. However, on Orion...
