SolarWinds Technology Partners
Hi folks, This is my first post on Thwack so I should probably introduce myself. My name is David Gardiner and I handle business development for SolarWinds. I'll spare you the details of my job but I handle our relationships with all the other Technology vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed, Nortel...

VM Monitoring
Hi, I would like to setup to monitor VMWare like the Orion Feature site display, but have a hard time. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Since they already have it setup on Orion feature, could someone in Solardwind just do a video to show how it's setup? The feature link: http://www.solarwinds...

Re: VM Monitoring
You can use the the Universal Device Poller to monitor a lot of different values on an ESX server. It helps to know the OIDs in order to build the UnDPs, and you can find most of what's available from ESX here: http://www.oidview.com/mibs/6876/VMWARE-VMINFO-MIB.html

In order to see all the hosted servers, I have to manage the views and add the ESX fields to the Nodes Detailed View. Looking at the View by Device...

ESX Setup question
I have SNMP on all our ESX boxes but I can't see any of the information I should be able to see with the new version of Orion. Am I missing something? Do you have to have a specific version of ESX? Shawn Waldman

Re: VMware – managing virtual switches inside your ESX Server
We currently are using VMware's ESX Servers. We are not monitoring the virtual switches. Should we?
